LEGOLAND Billund, opened in 1968, is the first and original LEGOLAND, built in the small Jutland town where the Lego Group was founded and still has its headquarters.
The park is built around Miniland, where entire cities and landmarks are recreated from millions of Lego bricks, alongside rides and themed worlds for younger children and families. A short distance away is the Lego House, a striking "experience home" of Lego designed by architect Bjarke Ingels, a giant stack of white brick-shaped blocks filled with hands-on play.
Billund has its own airport and is best reached as a dedicated family destination in central Jutland; see Denmark with Kids for more family planning.
